Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan (KVS) has announced the admission schedule for the academic year 2025-26, inviting applications for classes 1 to 11 across its schools in India.
The Selection Process for KVS Admission is given below :
Class 1: Seats are allocated based on the following criteria:
Right to Education (RTE) Quota: 25% of seats are reserved for SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and differently-abled children, filled through a draw of lots.
Service Priority Category: Children of transferable and non-transferable Central Government employees and ex-servicemen are given priority.
Reservation Quota: Seats are reserved as per norms for SC (15%), ST (7.5%), and Differently Abled (3%) candidates.
Classes 2 to 8: Admissions are granted based on the availability of seats and a priority system similar to Class 1.
Class 9: Applicants must undergo an entrance test, and admissions are granted based on merit.
Class 11: Admissions are based on the marks obtained in the Class 10 board examinations and the availability of seats.

Children must be 6 years old but less than 8 years as of 31st March 2025.
Can I apply offline for Class 1 admission?
No, the application process for Class 1 is entirely online.
Are there reservations for economically weaker sections (EWS)?
Yes, 25% of seats in Class 1 are reserved for SC/ST/EWS/BPL/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and differently-abled children under the RTE quota.
How are admissions to Class 9 conducted?
Admissions to Class 9 are based on performance in an entrance test.
When will the merit lists be published?
The first provisional merit list for Class 1 will be released on 25th March 2025.
